The Pet Postcard Project

My good friend and absolutely amazing crafter Chan, posted on her blog the other day that she's looking for Pet Photos for The Pet Postcard Project. Well of course I had to check out and see what it was. Turns out it is an incredible way to help shelter animals with the power of paper crafts!

Here's how it works. For every 4"x6" (approximately) postcard of your pet that you create (including your picture and some words of wisdom, a confession or wishes from your pet), a supplier will pledge food or toys to the shelter.  The amount of food per card varies and it was once 128lb's per card!!! How incredible.

Now Chan is a great lover of animals, as am I and I want to support her however I can so she's coming for a visit next weekend and we're going to have a Pet Postcard-a-thon and make as many cards as we can.

Here's where you can help out! We need loads of your pet photos to get as many cards as we can for The Pet Postcard Project.
There are some rules so please see below (Copied from Chan's site..I have permission right Chan :-).

Some important things to note if you submit your pet photo:
  • You are granting me permission to make a postcard featuring your pet that I can post on my blog before mailing in to The Pet Postcard Project.
  • You are granting The Pet Postcard Project permission to post your pet's postcard on their website and any websites affiliated with them.  Not every single postcard gets posted, and it may take some time for those that do [read their FAQ page here].  You are also permitting The Pet Postcard Project to use the postcard in any way they wish [including publishing, reproducing and modifying].  Please read their legal notice in full by visiting their site and scrolling down to the bottom right.
  • You will not be paid for your submitted photos.
You can imagine I'll be using the picture of Sherman above to make a card. I am sure he's thinking "You are POWERLESS to my sad face, now give me the carrot"

So, do you have an adorable pet that you'd like to be immortalized on a postcard and you agree to rules above? Please send them to Chan and we'll get to work on helping out Pets in need.
